What is this?

Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983) was an American inventor, architect, systems theorist, author and designer best known for his advances in technology, environmentally-friendly architectural and industrial design that served to lower costs, simplify design and reduce waste. His use of lightweight materials and geodesic domes, often seen in greenhouses and sports stadiums, remains iconic and influential to this day. His writings, sketches, and inventions and designs provided much of the early groundwork of the modern sustainability movement, emphasizing a holistic approach to problem-solving with innovative design and technological solutions.
